Why isn't Drunkard more like Sweet Tooth and Party Animal?
Drunkard, Sweet Tooth and Party Animal are more or less identical titles in that they all require the consumption of 10,000 points of consumables that serve no real purpose in the game (the Sweet Tooth ones do but you will not max the title by using them only when you need them), the only true difference is the amount of time you need to complete them.
For Sweet Tooth it's about how fast can you double-click an icon, for Party Animal is double-click, zone and repeat, but for Drunkard it's spending 166 hours (7 days) next to the computer double-clicking an icon every 3 minutes.
Back when you could use that exploit to cut the time you actually needed to spend drunk Drunkard was a lot like Party Animal and it wasn't that hard to complete it but now Drunkard probably take more time then it would take you earn 1000k, buy 10,000 sweet points and consume them.
My question is why?

Because Anet hates us. We've been trying to get them to address this forever and they never do and probably never will.
I suggest finding another title to max instead.

Drunkard came first. When it was just about drunkard, it made sense for it to be about "time spent drunk". Next came sweet tooth...what are you going to do, "time spent under the effects of sweet tooth speed boost"? Well there are sweets that don't do that, so...yeah. Best just to do the points system, and hey, it's less annoying too. Same for party animal, when that came.
So, that's why drunkard is different. The reason why it hasn't changed? Converting minutes to points isn't completely straightforward really; what's "fair"? Is it "fair" that someone who had to just click a couple stacks of ales gets the same title as someone who actually sat there for 10k minutes? (IMO, yes, but it would cause a lot of whining)

Is it "fair" to make a person sit there pointlessly for 7 days just because another person did it before him/her?
Why not reinstate the exploit, it was there a long time before A-net finally decided to fix it.

I understand it can be a bit annoying for someone who doesnt play a lot , but well , that's kind of same problem for someone who does cartographer with texmod , and someone who doesnt use it .
However , i suggest aswell to find an other title to max .

That is is, basically people who did it the hard way would freak out horribly because they would be faced with fact that they wasted helluva time for nothing. (Or risked account bans via click bot.).
It might not be as bad, but someone saying you that you basically wasted whole seven 24 hour days of your life does not sound like it would be taken well. Think about it, casual playing hour a day would take half a year if he manages to chain drunk status perfectly. This just asks for whinefest if made pointless.
---
The are, of course, minor things you could do to help with monotony of this title. I.E, make it account wide so that people can use alcohol when playing on non-mains (and take advantage of alcohol-boosts to pve skills without loosing out on main's progress).
Add timer and drunk grade effect display. Allow much more "minutes" to be stacked (essentially similar to instant points, but not in way to would annoy timeskink-scammed people that much as you would still have to wait minutes out.)

You don't have to "sit there" just spending time drunk. You can turn down your graphics to eliminate the drunk effect and go out and play the game. Just pop off a 3-minute drink every so often. Kegs come in very handy for this.

you can drink and PLAY the game at the same time like some of us have....(cant count the dungeons and vanquishes I did while drunk---)
would you want to do the exact same thing for every title??? that is boring, this is a bit different and I see no problems with you having to spend time actually IN GAME doing something sheesh.

Heh, do people actually believe this?
I have 3,000 on my Sin (pre low) and 8,500 or some crap on my Monk without spamming sweets, ie/ using them only when I need them in explorable areas for elite missions and the like (usually get ~60 points per hour in any elite mission, and I do a lot). Likewise, I accrued around 5,000 drunk points because I used Dwarven Stability for dungeon running instead of IAU.
The only useless points happen to be party points.

Gah, I would never manage to drink while doing something else on the game cause I would surely lose track of the minutes, so waste alcohol, or die cause I'm concentrating on minutes. However I'm not for converting minutes into points, but some sort of timer would be useful.

This.
I think there is already one type of alcohol with a timer/display (grog?). It would probably be easy to apply this to all booze.

Put an alarm to remind you every 3 minutes
But on a more serious note : like Cosy said, take your time, be drunk while playing. Who said you have to do it in 7 days ?

Yes. A-Net, please make them consistent: Make sweet tooth and party titles take as long as drunkard.

This ^. Anet isn't going to do a damn thing about it. They hate you and want you to spend 7~ish days drinking in-game rather than having a real life.
Or you could be like me, turn the post-process effects off, and just randomly double-click alcohol whenever you think you might not be drunk anymore. It doesn't work for shit, and I've probably wasted over 100k, but I couldn't care less.

And this
Also if you are selling crap in Kama or LA, that's a perfect time to booze...you are just sitting there anyway.

Yeah, but by and large, those aren't all that great for general-purpose use even when buffed. Especially for some of the less "popular" classes (my ranger main, e.g.). Drunken Master for the IAS/IMS, sure.
Dwarven stability, not so much. Anti-knockdown is nice, but if you're not using stances, IAU is unstrippable and, unless you're a runner, the few seconds difference isn't much.
I guess you can combine the two at the cost of a quarter of your bar...

Dear Anet,
Please change the Drunkard title to the same functionality as that of Sweet Tooth and Party Animal. It's for the greater good, despite however many prior Drunkard title maxers whine and complain.
